Phoenix is not only a great place to live with our wonderful year round weather but has become quite a place for culture events and entertainment. Downtown Phoenix has the Dodge theatre which is popular for its concerts and comedy shows with fantastic headliners and an array of different events throughout the year.

Herberger Theatre is also in the downtown Phoenix area featuring live plays and entertainment especially popular during the holiday season with it live holiday plays like Scrooge and popular Disney plays like The Lion King. This theatre has shows all year long and a nice little coffee and cocktail bar including little snacks for intermission. Orpheum Theatre is known for its international showcase of arts and entertainment. This theatre has well known artists and known for its fantastic acoustics and performances. Be sure to include a visit to one of its entertainers while you visit Phoenix or live in its surrounding areas.

Gammage Auditorium is a theatre in the round often headlining comedy shows and tremendous entertainment like upcoming events such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Wicked, Lion King, Stomp, Frost/Nixon and Cats. These events are quickly sold out so be sure and check the upcoming events and get your tickets early.

The Veteran Memorial Coliseum has the Phoenix yearly State Fair held at this location as well as large used book sales and Home and Garden Sales and various events. This coliseum is the former Phoenix Suns Coliseum.

The Phoenix Suns now have a beautiful new stadium called the US Airways Arena which used to be called America West Arena but since America West is now part of US Airways the name changed. This arena will also hold various concerts and other events year round. The Suns have become a favorite past time for our local residents who have supported this great team for years.

The Phoenix Coyotes, our own hockey team have an ice arena called Jobing.com Arena and besides hosting the Phoenix Coyotes games they also have other ice shows and concerts held in this huge arena. One plus to going to events here is that there is plenty of FREE parking for these events. This is another popular sports team in the Phoenix area, imagine, although we are well known for our Sun, we actually have a great hockey team who never have the outdoor ability to practice on ice.

Our downtown Civic Center Auditorium is often the place to find expos like the Women Expo or Home and Garden Expo as well as job fairs.

University Stadium, formerly known as Cardinals Stadium which is home to our NFC Champions and Superbowl contender for 2009 The Phoenix Cardinals which has now put us on the map for getting the team to the Super Bowl and a great game it was and oh so close to an Arizona win!
