Ryan Kim helps power San Dimas baseball past Beckman in National Classic

IRVINE– Any kind of baseball group that places with each other good pitching, striking, fielding and also base running is a team that is going to win lots of games.

San Dimas was terrific in all of those locations Tuesday in a 4-2 gain Beckman in a National Classic second-round game at Beckman High.

The Saints (15-3) will certainly play Gahr of Cerritos in a semifinal Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Cal State Fullerton. Gahr defeated El Dorado 9-8 in nine innings in a second-round video game Tuesday. Beckman scored its runs in all-time low of the sixth inning. Ricky Teel and UC Irvine-signed Connor McGuire got to on back-to-back strolls. Teel racked up on a single by Alec Gomez (a San Diego State devote) and McGuire crossed the plate on a fielder’s option to make it 4-2.

Injuries have moved O’Leary into a prominent place in the San Dimas beginning rotation.

Beckman plays El Dorado on Wednesday at noontime in a fifth-place semifinal at Amerige Park in Fullerton. The Patriots are No. 8 in the Orange County top 25 and El Dorado is No. 17.
