. HOUSTON – The prominent six-owner NFL Committee on L.a Opportunities recommended Tuesday by a 5-1 vote that the league’s owners approve the moving of the Chargers and also Raiders to a $1.75 billion arena in Carson.
The board’s recommendation came shortly after 11:30 a.m. PST on the opening day of exactly what’s anticipated to be two days of relocation conferences.
The recommendation is deemed a significant setback to Stan Kroenke’s efforts to move the Rams to a $2.66 billion arena in Inglewood.
The committee’s vote raises the chance of a vote being taken Tuesday on the relocation problem.
Kansas City’s Clark Hunt voted versus relocation. Search said he is opposed to any group moving to Los Angeles. Search stated if there is moving to L.a it should be for just one group. He did not say which group or website he chose if there is relocation.
The committee has actually been described by longtime NFL viewers as possibly the most effective board in the league’s past history.
More to come on this tale.
