Man killed in Stanton when car collides with street sweeper

STANTON A guy was killed early Friday, Sept. 1, when his auto hit a road sweeper in Stanton, inning accordance with authorities.

The head-on collision was reported around 2:35 a.m. on Cerritos Avenue eastern of Knott Avenue, Orange Area Sheriff’s Division Lt. Steve Gil claimed.

The vehicle driver of a Toyota Scion passed away at the scene while a man operating the street sweeper was transported by rescue to an area health center with non-life threatening injuries, Gil said.

The identification of the male eliminated was not launched.

The street sweeper, owned by a firm that is not under agreement with the city of Stanton, was enroute to a job when the accident happened, according to Gil.

Cerritos Avenue in between Knott Method and Lexington Street stayed shut Friday early morning while the Sheriff Department’s Significant Crash Reconstruction Group checked out the collision. No citations have been released.
