SANTA ANA – Some Southwest Airlines flights going out of John Wayne Airport Wednesday were grounded because the airline was dealing with a system-wide computer problem, an airport official said.
At least some Southwest flights weren’t come in, either, as the malfunction has affected the airline nationwide, including at Los Angeles International Airport.
It is unknown how many Southwest flights arrive to and depart from John Wayne, because the airport can’t comment on Southwest’s operations, said Deanne Thompson, the airport’s spokeswoman.
A statement on Southwest’s website said: “We are aware and investigating current issues with our systems. We will keep you posted as we have more information to share.”
More to come.
