Rita Rudner just sold a five-bedroom house in Monarch Bay with panoramic ocean views for $8.3 million – no joke.
But her YouTube home tour, a spoof on selling a house, is full of them.
“This is the living room where we do roughly 33 and a half percent of our living,” Rudner said on camera as she breezed through the home.
“Some nights my husband and I stare into the fireplace, and drink … and argue.”
The comedian and husband producer Martin Bergman listed the home in 2013 for $8.97 million. The pricetag was $8.995 in January.
Built in 2005, the 5,000-square-foot house in the guard-gated Dana Point community includes a media room, elevator, two fireplaces and an oversize, Zen-style tub in the master bathroom.
Heated floors, Anigre cabinetry, professional-grade kitchen appliances and electric solar shades are among the interior features.
Land in Monarch Bay has been subject to a lease expiring in 2020, but the leaseholders sold some property and Rudner and Bergman bought their parcel.
In her YouTube video, Rudner flaunted her “paparazzi-free patio” and yanked a bra from her kitchen warming drawer.
“I have my Realtors to the semi-stars standing by,” she said. “We look forward to receiving your offers and responding with a ‘How dare you?’ “
So, why were they selling?
“We needed more room for Rita’s shoes,” Bergman told a reporter when the house hit the market.
Actually, they have another home in the area.
Rudner, who’s been headlining in Las Vegas and touring, performed in a play at the Laguna Playhouse earlier this year.
Tim Smith and Thomas Walsh of Coldwell Banker Previews International were the listing agents. Sean Stanfield of HOM Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyer.
