Casa Romantica summer exhibit to blend art and horticulture

Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens is set to unveil its summer exhibit, a marriage of art and horticulture.

Designed by Britain’s Rebecca Louise Law, it utilizes some 8,000 blooms grown locally. They will be suspended from the ceilings of Casa Romantica’s art gallery, with space for guests to walk among the blooms, taking in the aromas and experiencing what the cultural center describes as a stunning array of flowers, succulents, seashells and other natural elements.

When: A free opening-night reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 9 and the exhibit will continue on display through Sunday, Aug. 13

Where: Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens, 415 Avenida Granada, San Clemente

Cost: Opening reception is free, otherwise general admission to the Casa is $5 including this exhibit, various historical exhibits, tours of the home that San Clemente founder Ole Hanson built in 1927 for his family, and the cultural center’s exterior gardens overlooking the beach and pier
